The months of summer 2021 be a time of uncertainty as to how we can continue the crucial human connection that was which was enjoyed by Rotary in years past. Although the mantra of hands faces will certainly be part of our ongoing program, it's clear that confidence is building and face-to-face reconnections occur. Rotary is, however, developed. It is not without a degree of uncertainty as we move to the summer of 2021. It remains to be determined if the personal connections Rotary members valued previously will be maintained. While the motto of "hands-in-space" is certainly a component of our daily routine but it's clear that trust is rising and there are more face-toface connections. Rotary is also changing. Man volunteers clean up trash. Volunteering through the network of Rotary makes lasting connections outbreak of the pandemic exposed us to technology in the Rotary world. For the sake of keeping our online business meetings, we've brought back service and social activities in a secure meeting room. We have taken the new opportunities and combined these with our pre-pandemic habits to make a bright new future for Rotary! In a recent Rotary survey it was heartening to find that 75% of clubs are making plans for their "business as usual' events" The months of summer are full of members out and about focussing on initiatives such as river and beach cleans litter picking, and of course the ongoing service to the society of Rotary volunteers who volunteer their time for COVID testing and vaccination centers.
